Becoming Confident
Levels 6 and 7, in transition from intermediate to advanced English, take much more time than the movement from level 3 to level 5. Up to three years of living in an English-speaking country may be required, depending on aptitude and nationality.
Level 6. Active. Has a wide range of skills, especially use of vocabulary and idiom. Will have adequate business skills, such as word processing and spreadsheet, memo and letter writing, as well as easy conversation. ("What's our ETA? We're a bit behind time, aren't we?")
Level 7. Idiomatic (or Proficient). At this level, speaks fluently in good RP. Can conduct all company business in the language. ("Stewardess, get me a sick bag, quick. I'm going to puke." "The economic situation looks likely to be turbulent." )
